I also have some light green egg layers.

This sounds like not accepting the results of your own poll.

Blue eggs in a commercial setting (meaning sold in a grocery store) are more likely to be accepted than Maran brown or green.
Hey, it’s all right if he doesn’t accept his own poll. They are his own birds. Some people ask others for opinions when they aren’t sure. When the other person’s opinion is not in line with whatever they don’t realize they’ve made up their mind about, they do it anyway!

I think I prefer leafy green over olive green since it is less brownish, but that it is hard to control, of course.

I'd love a rich olive (I'll be using my marans hen for that if I end up having to put her mate down this year). We've had just one green layer since getting birds and it's a pale, 'regular' green like most EEs.

My AmeraucanaxWelsummer cross had beautiful rich green freckled eggs.
The AmeraucanaxDominique bantam is the oldest and broodiest bird in my flock, but her eggs are a far paler green and quite boring. There is no bird more vigorous, however, nor a more determined mother.😂 Nor more calculating or intelligent.
