My duck has been laying for the past 2 years and some green feathers are popping in on each sides of her wings. Is it normal or is it gender changing because I read something online that it can happen for a duck to change its gender.

I’v got about 20 or more females and 2-3 males. She isn’t targeted or anything from the other male ducks.
that’s a great ratio, i was gonna say maybe you had either too many males or not enough. but i can’t think of anything that would make her do this. maybe it’s just coloring

I have a 6 year old butterscotch call duck and she was a prolific egg layer. She lost her “mate” a year and a half ago at which time she stopped laying. She has developed drake curls and changed from her beautiful pastel hues to butterscotch drake coloring. So the switching sex thing does happen. Your ducks green wing feathers is interesting. Some feather coloring changes do occur from year to year as they get older and every duck is different. The photo is my female “drake”
