Green Jay Chatter

We've got that wind today. It's brisk! Do you lose power a lot? It is insane how often ours goes out. Internet too.

It's still a little cloudy, but the sun wants to come out. I just took pumpkin from last night's carvings down to my flock. It's their first time having it, and they love it!
I did pick up a pumpkin for the girls, this would be a good day for it.

LoL, couple years back, friend brought me some leftover pumpkins from a patch, girls got to enjoy pumpkin for several days.... (pumpkin is a squash right, good for them right?!)
And then I started noticing a distinctly pumpkin-y smell to their eggs when cracking them open 😯 okay ladies that enough pumpkin now! 🤣

Unfortunately. There's some lines and a transformer down the road aways that probably date back to when they first installed electricity... 🤣
We never know what will make it fail but high winds usually knock it out. Grin and bear it as part of rural living. Worse part, we're on well water and guess what doesn't work without power? 🤔
Same! Our transformer at the wood line could be in a museum! 🤣

Oh no! We are at least on water from the local company. My neighbor has well water though, and she deals with that too when we lose power.

🎶 Tie a yellow ribbon 'round the orchid tree.... 🎶

Sometimes we find them in the bald Cypress saplings....

So why did the yellow ribbon snake tie itself around the anacacho orchid?
Probably because they don't want to become dinner for the Texas Indigo!

She's between 5-6 feet, was sunning on the driveway couple days ago, favorite meal? Other snakes.... 😯

They're beautiful! We saw a pretty rat snake just a couple of days ago.
