They are so messy! Our property isn't necessarily hilly, but it is sloped in some spots. And you've got to really be careful on those spots. The acorns are like a carpet there, and if you step on them just right, you might as well be trying to walk on ice when those suckers start rolling! No kidding! We had a massive crop 4 years ago and were literally ankle deep in acorns! Sliding on them everywhere, you couldn't walk across the yard without acorns falling on your head, hard hat time!They are so messy! Oh I love these! I've got a family member who has them planted in the yard. They are so easy to grow, with basically no care. They come back every year and bloom like crazy.
