Hello, I'm planning on getting Green Queens(Technically still an EE), & was wanting to see pictures of your birds, & their egg colors to see what I'd be expecting from mine once I get them next spring.

So at one point last winter, we had some Easter Egger chicks...but we had to sell them. 😢
However, I did manage to snap some photos of them as they were growing up so here they are:

Hope this helps!

I’ve got a green queen (Meyers). She’s all black, definitely not that pretty wheaten sort of color they had up at one time! She’s gone broody twice this year. Not one of my friendlier birds (not bad, just not outgoing with people). I tried in the past to take a pic of her egg but it just didn’t come out the shade like I was seeing in real life. It’s a nice olive color, different than the green shades I get from my “standard” EE. Definitely was darker and more vibrant when she just started laying versus now - assuming that is due to the “inking” getting low like seen with dark brown egg layers …?

I have trouble getting pictures of colored eggs too.

Here’s some not great pics -

(please disregard the feathers around, looks like a couple hens exploded over night. The seem to be going through a molt)

And the egg looks much more … blue-toned? than it does in RL to me

Also my friend also got a Green Queen last year and she is black also.

I have birds molting too.

She's definitely pretty, I like black birds.

The picture of the egg looks light turquoise.
