Green thumb is itching, anyone else?

I have a recipe for Eggplant preserves.   I made some but DW didn't like it but we have some Italian friends who loved it.
I really want to make eggplant parmesan but I am out of all my sauce I put up last year.I really don't want to buy tomatoes at the farmers market . I'm going to check into frying up the eggplant slices and freezing them til the tomatoes are in.
I do have this great recipe for "roasted tomatoes. Yes it sounds strange be it is great.
You cut up ripe tomatoes, onion, garlic and lay them out on a cookie sheet that has olive oil on it.Sprinkle all of it with Italian type seasonings and roast it.when it is slightly cool you blend it just slightly. You canthen freeze it we use this base for everything all year long.It makes a great base for soup and we use it as the starter for are sauce.I love it cause with the exception of the olive oil everything comes from my garden. Have a great day Carol

Rancher this was suppose to be a response to you post I don't know what happened.

Well trust me if you need souvineirs  buy some don't take rocks.  One they all look a like and two you won't remember where you got them and three it's just a stupid thing to collect.  If you must collect things collect friends.  It's harder than rocks but worth more.

I mean when have you ever seen anyone on Antiques roadshow with a rock?   :gig    Gems don't count.

I do collect friend everywhere I go but I do have a rock from Ithaca that brings back great memories when ever I see it in my garden. It was in my yard when I left .

Please tell me you ate hummus and not humus! :D

Gotta love it
My son just recently bought me a new iPad and it's a pain using the touch pad. I just recently realized that it automatically starts every sentence with a Capitol for you. I've been hitting the upper cars arrow and changing it.
My son has a masters in English and would go crazy if he ever saw my posts. Since grade school he has been proof reading any letter I ever had to write. Carol

I can't even figure out how to put the smiley faces on with this iPad.

Well a storm is here so I don't have to water the garden today

Misspellings always forgivable but I found that one funny since humus is dirt. Lots of folks have been talking about their ipads doing bad things to their text. My android phone bugs me doing that stuff too. Like when I try to log in to BYC.com it makes me put Galanie instead of galanie. On most sites, that makes a huge difference. Can't have the cap. Don't you hate it when electronic devices treat you like an idiot when they are the idiots?

Carol, the dragon fruit plants are awesome! They remind me of the plants called Christmas cactus. If its like a Christmas cactus, they root super easy. I had one that would drop little pieces and if left on the COMPLETELY dry carpet the pieces would still sent out roots. I sure would like to borrow a piece of that!

A search of African onion showed an aquatic plant and other mixed results but I'd love to see pictures of yours and other's house plants!

Also, in one of the posts above some one was having trouble with chickens digging up potted plants. I had the same trouble until I put all of the plants in hanging pots and put them on the lower tree branches in the back yard. It ended up being a pretty cool effect! Only problem now is one of the squirrels likes to hide walnuts in the hanging pots and he tossed out a couple of coleus.
