Green thumb is itching, anyone else?

Just re-read my previous posts, I am really a pretty happy person!

Was there ever any doubt?

We're slated for snow tomorrow and later this week. Started tomotoes and foxglove. Tomatoes are up now to keep them alive til May. Going to order some pole beans.

Does anyone here dry beans for storage?

I finally have some of these irises blooming after 3 years they finally are!

Very nice.. I can't wait till things warm up here. I am however leaving next week for Texas, so hopefully it will be warm there.

My tomatoes are coming up and getting there second set of true leaves. I've got Zinnas and Foxglove coming up too. I just hope my family can keep them alive til I get back. I've bought some of the taller clear plastic tray covers that Country Max sells and they look to be pretty good. Though a bit pricey perhaps. $4.49 each. Not an exact picture but similar.

I have finally put my seeds in pots, a nasty case if bronchitis left me with no motivation. Now I am ready for anything! (Except more winter) i bought real grow lights, I will see if they are any better than what I was using. Lawnmower is getting its spring tune up and new blades. YAY!

This stupid crazy weather here.... It's SO nice during the day... but then we get frost out of nowhere. Bah. I think it killed my Nasturiums and zucchini I started outdoors early (hey, I don't have all the time in the world. They did great, until that frost).

One has to be prepared for these things but it is hard to predict.

Perhaps you should try my "milk carton" green houses. You can just put them on each evening til danger of frost is gone.

Yup, got them laying around.. That frost just caught me off-guard. Silly weather. Here you can look out the window and it'll LOOK warm, and it's only 36F

Or the other way around... you think it's cold, but it's not. It's all good, most of my plants are cold weather crops that can handle it.. just my few small ventures into planting a little too early for the season didn't survive my courage.

I popped a few more zucchini seeds in the ground, the other were only 2 weeks old, so we'll just try again. I *think* maybe 2 nasturtium lived... but we'll have to see. May just have to soak a few more seeds and pop them in the ground directly.

Well it was not all that long ago 36 WAS warm I am not going to forget highs in the teens for a long time. Thunderstorms predicted for tomorrow. Does it mean real spring is here??

True enough! Those single digit nights were insane. Our pipes froze twice... not something you expect in the South.

Looking at the forecast for this week, yup, spring is here.

I took some old vinyl siding and made it into a border for my flower bed around patio and house. I dug down about 6 inches and put them in upside down .
