Green thumb is itching, anyone else?

Beautiful What type are they? I only have a small plot for my tomatoes ,eggplant and peppers I go to Brimfield antiquing in a couple of weeks and bring back plants from there. Asmall stand along the way Boy do they have great stuff I always treat myself to a few unusual perrenials also.My peppers were the best I have ever grown last year I'll Keep you posted as to what types I bring home.

Three years ago I was headed up to my sons graduation from Boston Un. and went by way of Brimfield Since I planned on going home a different way I stopped and bought my plants. You should of seen the look on the bell hopps face when I asked him to unload the trunk and bring it up to my room. 4 flats of veggies. Walking through the lobby of this fancy hotel ;man were heads turning. What was funny was that the maid would turn them 'cause they were bending towards the light.

I took a few pictures of my tomatoes and marigolds today...didn't take any of my peppers for some reason. I have a feeling my plants are a little too leggy, but hopefully they'll all grow up just fine.

I'm pretty sure I have 57 tomato plants and 36 marigolds.

Rancher; About the boy scouts Earth day is coming right up . I think you should contact a leader and work something out Maybe they could even get a paper to do an article. Even contact the Girl Scouts; hell both working hand in hand what a story. You need me up there Rancher I'd take care of things. They call me the Mayor around my neighborhood...

Czech; I buy the dried hibiscus flowers and make the tea man is it good.
Tried those cukes last year;they were OK skin ends up leathery but the flesh is white-white
Have a huge witch hazel in my yard I love it 'cause its the first thing that blooms in early spring late winter.
I have also planted the carrots . Last year was the first time I ever put in a second crop of carrots at the end of the season. Just harvest the last of them before I rototilled man were they great. You'll need to keep us updated as thing grow.

I am almost ready to start my herbs. I planted some black radish but the darn snails/slugs found them. I'm having all sorts of bad luck with them this year. My decolate snail population has exploded but they don't seem to be eating any of the brown snails - I do believe they are living together in peace and harmony - whilst EATING my stuff!

Roselle - the type of hibiscus that is used for jamaica (Latin sweet drink that is beet red)
"Ailsa Craig Onion" - globes can get up to 8" in diameter
Brazillian Orange Oval Eggplant
Poona Kheera Cucumber - originally from India with fat fruit that change from white, yellow, then brown when ripe
Witch Hazel
Wild Bergamot
Cassabanana - vine that I hope to get 12"-24" long bright red fruit that is aromatic like melons
Albino Beets - both white skin and flesh
Romanesco Cauliflower - this is a crazy geometric shaped flower, for my husband, because I can't stand this stuff

Rosa Bianca Eggplant - small rose to mauve colored fruits
Pyrethrum Chrysanthemum - for pest control (FINGERS CROSSED

Your right I do. There is some nice property for sale up here you know and reasonable prices.

You know some of you are just making me feel bad with those pics of gardens. Not really. I am happy for you.

I just planted some zinnia seeds I had from last year. My green thumb is itching, but I don't have anything else to plant yet.

Queen - My husband is actually Polish, but believe it or not, it's maybe 1 out of 50 people who actually pronounce it correctly. He is second generation.

I just finished planting some lilies, cukes, stevia, greens, basil & transplanted a celery. Drianed the worm bin and put the tea out for the new plants. got the seed potatoes in, too. Boy I need a nap - but hubby is already snoring and we can't both lay down with little ones running around.

I had to get busy FAST today before it rained. Put in tomatoes, bush beans, Garlic and onion sets, sunflowers, watermelon, loose leaf lettuce and carrots. Still have to put in cukes, snow peas and a few other things that I started and are starting to get leggy.
I love my garden!

Man I miss a few things about being stationed in Hawaii. We had a giant avacado tree in our yard that had fruits the size of soft balls, and the mango trees that grew around the PT feild we amazing! If youve ever had a mango or papaya that was ripened on the tree, you know what I'm talking about!! Plus, I could grow everything YEAR ROUND! Now, back in Denver, I have to figure out what I'm going to do. Ive bought some melon seeds (I know they grow great down in the Arkansas River Valley in the southern part of the state, not so sure about up here, we'll find out) and some beet seeds. Honestly, I have more hope for the beets.... Im not going to be too ambitious this year since I've never grown too many vegetables here in zone 5 so we'll just have to see what we come up with!

Does anyone know how I could make home made supports for my peony plants? I think the ones from the garden supply catalogs are so ugly. Any ideas?
