Greenfire Farm Mystery Chick

Finally broke down and shelled out the $ for Greenfire chicks. There was a six chick minimum, and I was looking for nice legbars and bielefelders, but they were one available chick short on either breed, so I picked the cheapest chick they had... a mystery rainbow egg layer. I ordered six. I received 10. Got an extra male and extra female Bielefelder, a white Marans and a Schijndelar. Then there is still my rainbow egg layer... it is red with stripes, has a tiny yellow dot, indicating it may be barred. Can’t figure out what it is though... maybe Rhodebar? But it looks more red than what’s pictured. Any guesses?

Could it be a male cream legbar? I don't have much experience with the breed but I know males have that little white dot on their head and have similar coloring.

I did read that if they sent any auto sexing chicks in their rainbow assortment that they would send females only!

I am going through their pics seeing if I find one that matches... can you make out comb type yet?

One of my male Bielefelder from GFF was more female marked but not as distinctively.. similar to what you are seeing.

I'm encouraged though, that they sent you extras.. as I have another order pending... last order they sent one extra of each gender Bielefelder, and ALL survived!

Wishful thinking probably that they will include extra lavender Wyandottes on my upcoming shipment. But hey, I will take some splits too!

Mystery chick is 2 weeks old and feathering in similar to female bielefelders but she definitely didn’t have the same head stripes. Might put a wing clip on her so I can still tell her apart in a few weeks.
