Hi, my name is Tanya, and I live about an hour south of Lexington, Kentucky. I am a psychiatric registered nurse, and work on the adolescent boys unit. I have always loved birds, the first birds I had experience with was geese. I have been hatching and taking care of geese for over 10 years now. I have a mixed chinese gander that is over 10 years old as well. I also have 8 chinese geese, and more on the way, soon. I have a gosling right now that hatched last night. My other animals are a Tennesee Walker, Blue Heeler (Australian cattle dog), a cat, many beef cattle, lutino cockatiel, and blue-crowned conure. In the incubator I have some cochins, more geese, and quail. I have never hatched any quail before, so I am super excited.
I consider myself an experienced hatcher. I have hatched almost every type of farm bird possible: guineas, ducks, geese, chickens, turkeys, peacocks, and now quail. So hopefully I can help others out, and also get some answers myself.
