Greetings BYC,

Im delighted to be able to join this community, after having found it while scrolling for ways to deal with pesky hawks. My family and I have been doing chickens for 8 years now, and I still love them as much as I did when we started! So far, we have about 24 chickens, and they're a mixed flock. With Brahmas, Rhode Island Reds, Easter Eggers, etc. My main hobby is chickens, others... Learning about birds and bird anatomy so I can learn more about veterinary medicine. Well, I hope I can get to know some of you, and I'm excited to see what this community of poultry lovers has in store!

Hi @MadameZiggster :frow

I had to put netting over my coop and pen area to keep hawks and buzzards out.

We don't have netting over the extended area that we let them out into for fresh grass. But they know to run back to the main pen area when they see a hawk or buzzard.

It has worked well thus far.

Welcome!
Oh thanks, I'll see what if I can implement that method for my chicken run. And thank you for the welcome!
