Brahmas for meat.

Local breeds similar to Jungle Fowl for reproduction.

It requires sneaking eggs under ornery broody hens....

Just an update, thought you might like this. I found a very special local breed, and was able to get a small flock of different bloodlines. The Lao native black bone, skin and meet are black. It’s a breed original from Oudomxay province (north of Laos) and its getting very rare.

Our Botanical Garden will be part of a local breeding program for this breed. Once I have them on site I will be able to post some pictures to share with the other members.
