We’ve narrowed it down to the three hens who are three years old, they are always together wherever they wander, and they prefer not to hang out with the rest of our chickens. The grey yolks is a new thing. I think you may be right, there’s no other explanation. They wander further than the rest of the flock too. I’ll have to spy on them! I have not eaten any, they freak me out! Did you see picture? Would you eat one? Not me. But my husband did and he’s fine lol. He said it tasted fine. There’s no off odor. How old are the birds? Is this a new thing, or has this bird (birds?) always laid this color yolks? I'm wondering if during free ranging, this one, or several, have found something growing that they find particularly tasty and are gorging on it, causing the discoloration.
Have you eaten any? Is taste/smell/texture normal?
