She's a soft Southerner, not sure I'd be allowed back up North if I did.

Hey!....I am NOT a southerner........born and raised Northern......just not as far as Yorkshire...I am going to get you Greyfields!

I didn't realize not having a camera would cause so much revoltion! Really, though, we've all been to these places before and the photos on postcards are better anyhow. I prefer spending my time reading and translating what I can. I took Latin several years ago as an adult so I would be able to read the walls on all the cathederals.

I'm still not sure of my southern plans. I think we'll be going to stop at Peterborough then across to Herefordshire, then finally down to London. So we may be bypassing the Chester/Birminham area. It's up to my wife really. She calls the shots. I just drive the funny right-hand drive car.

Had steak and ale pie yesterday. Today I think I'll go mad and have rabbit.

Chester is no where near Birmingham... nearest point to me off the M6 would be somewhere in Crewe.......enjoy your steak/ale pie......sounds delish......

It is close by our standards! Remember, we in America will drive 3 hours each way for a good taco. You must realize this!

I've got the nefarious transatlantic cold/flu buy and can hardly sleep because of sore throat and runny nose. Bah I say! BAH!

Other things I'm enjoying:

lost or roast beef with yorkshire puddings
cider from Herefordshire (we may have polished off a 2 liter last night

)
our 6 speed turbo-diesel Mondeo
thornton's peanut brittle
paracetemol with codeine makes on hangover immune
seeing our mates
looking at all the sheeps and cows ("shaype" and "cues" up in these parts)

Things I'm not enjoying:

Watching Ms. Marple mysteries for the 15th night in a row because my in-laws can't seem to get enough of the old witch
Still a lot of smokers here.
This darn flu/cold crap.

Picked up a pheasant last night at the butcher, too. We'll give that a try today.

Of course of course I forget that the US is so big.....a three hour drive for me is to the ends of the earth!

Try dissolvable co-codamol from the chemist...they work even quicker than the tablet form and wont upset your stomach.....

Miss Marple......YAK YAK YAK......

Roast pheasant........yum or I can smell it roasting...am hungry....

So glad you are enjoy your holiday........ well did you have the gammon steaks after your lunch the t'other day than lad?

You are going to put so much weight on..you will have to pay excess baggage on the flight back....
