Just hatch some chicks on 4/30, when do I need to start giving them grit?? Right I’m just giving them a mix of 1/2 medicated & 1/2 in-medicated chick starter. Got 14 in this hatch!!

I start giving Chick Grit at 2 weeks old.

I mix it into feed, so they don't over indulge, at a ratio of 1 to 40 by weight. 2 ounces of Grit to 5 pounds of feed. I use a kitchen scale.
It's easier to mix evenly, 5 pounds at a time.
My Chicks are 5 days old, so I'll start mixing into feed in 9 days.

I personally start giving grit right away. As long as they're solely on starter, they don't "need it" but it certainly does no harm to give it to them early.

Any particular reason you're feeding half medicated? Medicated feed has a pretty low dose of amprolium, so I would think diluting it further would make it fairly ineffective, so why not feed unmedicated?
