groan... not TWO boys!! (8 week old EE's) - new pics post #24

OK so I thought I had two pullets but of course I'm not that lucky...

Just found the tell-tale "3 rows pea comb" bump on Peanut, it's like it sprouted overnight!

So yep, he's a boy -right?

(they both turn 8 weeks old on Sunday July 4th)

But what about Cashew, is she/he also a boy?? No visible comb, no redness... should there be anything at 8 weeks?
I caught them sparring tonight and Cashew has always been the bigger chick.
Both hatched at the same time (May 9th) from the same parents and both have the same feathering type and stance:

Cashew looks like a pullet, Peanut looks like a cockerel.

To me

both are beautiful though!

I say this all the time - EEs are difficult to sex. You won't be sure you've got a roo or two until you hear crowing. Seriously, give them time.

Oh, just a Nikon D40x... the light was lovely this evening but it got dark fast and the shots went blurry... I refuse to use the built-in flash! oh well!​

It's hard to tell with EE birds sometimes. So, I dunno, but that top one is soooo beautiful!

I am NOT an expert on sexing, and I've never heard of the rust colored feathers thingie (although MY EE Roo has some, but he does NOT have a pea comb!), but ya know, I kinda think you have two pullets there. Cashew really looks girly, but nothing about Peanut screams "roo" to me. I can't say anything about that pea comb, because - as I've said - my rooster Carl doesn't have a pea comb at all.
