Grocery store eggs series 2021

Swing and a miss! Better luck with your duck eggs. Which store are those from? And asian market?

I was surprisingly successful with my first, and only, duck hatch last year. I used the Metzer guide. Which has you wet the eggs and leave them on the counter to cool (after day 10) to simulate the waterfowl hen.

The duck eggs are from a local Asian market chain. I’m hoping that a small chain will have higher product turnaround while still using small scale sources.

Phase 2, start date 1/5/21

Species: duck
Brand: N/A, sold as single eggs
Breed: unknown
Store: New Sang Chong in San Leandro
Purchase by date: N/A
Cost: $1.09 x 6 = $6.54

Expectation: Moderate. Some factors may favor development, but no way of knowing if drakes are present in the source flock. These are fresh eggs (very small air cells). Several show evidence of washing. Eggs were kept very cold in the store.
