I don't know if anybody remembers but I was talking a bit about how my dog hates water. He knows the bath means water so he's afraid to step in it. I've been working with him everyday and putting peanut butter in the tub (no water yet) and I let him get in by himself. so far he'll only put the front half of himself in the bath to get the peanut butter but that's major progress
When my boxer was younger it was like trying to get an 8 legged spider to stay in the tub. She literally leaped over my head once when she slipped out of the tub restraint. Now if someone is getting a bath she will line up for hers.

Did you ever try gradually wetting a rag more and more? I was thinking about that the other day and wondering if you tried it and if you did if it worked.

Coming from your other thread because I absolutely LOVE grooming dogs. Still learning though, for now sticking to practicing on my dogs and giving baths.
Here’s some dogs, I don’t trim any other than my own dogs (tan with wet belly and the black lab mutt)

Adorable! It is just so satisfying isn't it?

They all look great. You have a nice pack. Is the one an American water spaniel?

Yes! Nasty little thing 😂 always getting so excited he’s foaming around the mouth and peeing on everything so his bath is often.
He’s not one of mine he’s a friend-clients but he’s great
It's one breed that bit me as a groomer in training. I always wondered if the whole breed was nutty or just that one.

Definitely the breed, but he’s just a drooler not a biter thankfully
I should say it didn't bite during the grooming. It bit me when I opened it's pen to pet it. I worked at a boarding kennel and also helped with grooming. It was one of the owners brothers dog. I never opened the pen again. Some dogs shouldn't be pet, especially when under stress.
