I need to do Brews nails badly still
Just get it done. It can cause pain if they get too long, and they can be torn off much easier when longer if they get hooked on something. Just tie him to a doorknob, and trim the like he's a horse. You can see the quick easier from the underside.

Hmmm good point. But that said, they’re not like SUPER long right now. Like not to the point of pain or curling under or anything like that. I would never let them get like that. But they are to the point of being sharp.

I tried your way and managed to get two nails done which is good and it’s a good method BUT even with him tied and with treats for letting me do each nail, he still was waaaaaaaayyyyyyy too wiggly LOL I think the leash was maybe too long or something. And he would be good and let me grab his paw but then pull it away so I would keep saying no until he let me hold it which didn’t take long but then actually clipping was hard too. And I ALSO lost track of which nails I had done with how wiggly he was lol SO! I ended up just giving up honestly. I really think I need something where he can’t run away whether that’s a helper to hold him which I don’t have or the sling thing which I DO have and need to try. Either that or just pay a groomer but that’s a hassle and he’d be a brat I’m sure lol

Aussie/lab mix.
Aww!
Do you have any full pictures?
We use to have a aussie lab, mother was a farm working aussie, but lived inside, she rejected the puppies so we got him at 5 weeks old. Father was the neighbors silver lab, used for hunting. He exhibited the best traits of both worlds. A good hunter, with herding instincts. I miss him but he is living a good life with another family.
