Gross or an acceptable use?

If eating pullet eggs causes you to grow something extra, I could really use an extra set of arms please.

Cuz his mom didn't do it and his grandma didn't do it. That's sacred stuff in his book. Believe me, raising chickens MY way vs. how it was done by his mom and grandma has been an uphill battle...but I'm always up for a good challenge.

Actually I think terrielacy is onto something. He wants cornbread with his supper. We're out of store bought eggs. Guess I'll have my cornbread and he'll just have to wait.

Sometimes you have to respect others and not force cornbread made with yukky pullet eggs on anyone. I am sure he will appreciate your thoughfulness.

a pullet is a young hen, one that is not old enough to be called a hen just yet. Their eggs tend to be smaller in the beginning, then get bigger as the pullet matures.

At what age are they concidered hens? I have never put much thought in this before. My girls started laying 3 weeks ago and I have been living off of the eggs. They are great. I am not sure how my cholesterol level will be next check up.

The little eggs that first showed up, I'm talking 1/3 to 1/2 normal size, almost always had no yolk so we called them our "low cal" eggs and gave them to a friend who pronounced them delicious. Very quickly though the pullets started laying full size eggs. We have always eaten their eggs or gave/sold them to someone else who did. So far everyone here is fine without extra body parts but I do agree an extra set of hands would be nice. Heck, I want another whole body - a younger one would be great, too.
