Ground pine stumps

So, I'm getting close to finishing my cucurrent coop. Today I had 4 pine trees cut down and the stumps ground. Would the chips be suitable for using in my coop? I was thinking of bagging a bunch up. Thoughts? I imagine it might need to be dried to prevent mildew?

Yes you can use the chips but to be safe put it aside and let it age a while - it's rare but possible that fresh chips could grow mold that's dangerous to chickens. I had a few stumps ground down a while ago and most of the chips went to my garden, but the chickens sure love digging around in it.
