Ground vs Wire

Ted you got me good...I'm looking at your cool cages and BAM...a freezer!

Your cages do look awesome...I just bought some New World Quail that I think I'll build a cage group like yours. What are the dimensions and how big of gap do you leave for the egg drop? What type of quail do have? And just out of curiosity, why have you choose wire over ground?

IMO ground pens are easier for colonies and larger groups but for small breeding groups like pairs, trios, and quads, wire floor pens like teds would be alot easier to manage.

This is the colony pen. I can keep a few colonies in it. Once in this pen you don't have to feed and water them.

Yep

I have 3 of those big pens in the basement. I have an elk penned up in one of them.

That's terrible! The poor thing doesn't have any room to turn around!

When I first saw this it took a minute to sink in, (I'm getting NO sleep) and I thought maybe the wrong pic had been posted.

We actually just purchased the "stand up" version of that pen, we've been housing chicken friers, quail, and waterfowl in there all together with no issues
