No, ground hogs will ignore chickens, mostly. However they'll tunnel under your fence perhaps giving chicken predators access, eat your chicken feed, introduce lice and flees, set traps for you with their burrows causing you to break a leg, make a holy mess, and ground hogs will sure eat up your garden if your have one. And I also suppose a hen could lay, sit, or get trapped in a burrow and you'll never know where she went. Also skunks, foxes, coyotes, and other vermin like to den in abandoned ground hog holes.

On the positive side, if you'll cut out the kernel in each arm pit ground hog meat is sure good to eat. I'll have mine Bar-B-Q style thank you.
