Growing Family

I bought four pullets this spring, two white leghorns and two Rhode Island reds. We're expecting our third baby this fall, and we'll probably have more. But I figured I'd better start now before later when I have lots of kids and need lots of eggs. I'm excited to see them lay their first eggs in a couple more months.... They were hatched around March 10th.

They say twenty weeks until the first egg typically?

Welcome to BYC. The Leghorns may start laying by 20 weeks, but the RIR will probably need another 4 weeks to lay. When their combs and wattles enlarge dramatically eggs will follow shortly.
