Growing Fodder

Last 24 hours it grew 1" and this morning it's 3" tall. The sprinkler is on if you look close.

This morning the wheat fodder has grown 2" over the last 24 hours. Time to give them a treat I think. I also got one of the long under the bed storage tubbys and found a closet rack, cut that down to fit into the tubby. Now I have room for 3 trays.

Curious if when your sprouts start to shoot, about 1 inch long. Do they feel a tad Rubbery ?? Or soft?

Mine are rubbery at about 1 inch long, both the Rye and Wheat. Rye is now gone but Wheat is like that too.
Can't tell you what day that is because I am not keeping track.

Did you start with a big pile of seed?
Looks like an inch, or more, thick?
Did it all sprout?
I use only a single, maybe double, layer.
That was my first attempt at growing fodder. I knew next to nothing so I didn't measure the seed. When it sprouts it grows in height as they push out the roots so it looks like more that it was. I had way too much seed in those two trays. Only 1/2 of those trays sprouted so I labeled that as a failed experiment. Now after learning more about it I have it 1-2 seeds deep in the tray. I measure the seed when I soak it so I get consistent results. This is today from the right to left 1 day, 2 days, 4 days.

I'm setting up a larger more user friendly system in the basement bathtub that will hold 6 trays and be self draining. My misting heads will hang from the top shelf and with the shower curtain closed I won't have to worry about the spray getting all over the place. I have two 4 foot grow bulb fixtures for light. The temperature I'm shooting for is 70F in the bathroom.
