growing mushrooms

Thank you so very much! So, if I saved some spores dry, what would I then do with them to get them to grow? Simply rinse them off the foil into my growing medium? I have a mushroom out there right now, that has passed it's prime for eating, but it could certainly provide some dry spores!!!

Thank you!

yes just put the dry spores from the foil into your medium and you should start to see mycelium growth in as little as three days.

No, they are different. They must be cooked before eating them, and the stems are too fibrous to eat. They can grow huge, and do well in a wood chip medium (aka Back to Eden garden style) and can take a bit of sunlight. The ones that I found today were planted under a pole bean trellis last season, but have no shade over them right now. Do a search fro wine cap mushrooms, and you will turn up info. Research is suggesting that they do well in a gardening environment and help to improve the soil while giving you a multi crop from the same area. When i dug that area, I found an incredible amount of huge mycelium a couple of weeks ago. So, hoping that the bed will be productive for several years to come.
