grrr, feed store guy vent...

Lazy J Farms Feed & Hay :

That is why you should do business with a feedstore owned by a PhD trained Livestock Nutritionist and a Veterinarian like the one my wife and I own!

Jim:)

Will you move to San Diego please? Lemon Grove/Spring Valley area, we need you here. My DH was sent to the local feed store for grit - he came back with a bag of oyster shell. He didn't know any better, but the person who bagged the stuff should have! At the same store I had to argue with the fellow that I wanted NON medicated chick starter. He really did not get it and even tried to give me Layer - he would go to his boss and ask, do we have non medicated? and then he still tried to give me the wrong stuff. Frustrating. I don't want to drive to heck and back to find the "right" place.

So if you want to move, I have some ideas where you could set up shop!

Well it just happened again. I just came back from Tractor Supply Co. This time I bought nearly 250-300 pounds of feed. I likewise could not get any assistance. The attendant was too busy grinning in the face of a pretty 20 some year old pretty girl and lifting her heavy 10 pound bag of bunny feed. He did this from the time I entered until the time I left. I never saw so many white teeth.

Granted I am a 50 year old ugly woman, but I am their meat and potatoes customer. I am one of the ones keeping their doors open supplying my livestock. Once that pretty young girl has thrown away her cute little bunny along with the whole 10 pounds of feed, I will still be buying feed for my livestock.

So again, should service be a matter of how aroused you make the attendant or how much money you are spending?

Need to get somone from TSC corporate headquarters to join BYC. Then all that person needs to do is search TSC and see what their stores are up to. That way we don't have to take it upon ourselves to complain to the mangers.

here in houston, you'll get better service at a lowes than at HD. i have 3 home depots 6-10 miles in each direction except south. the closest lowes is 20 miles. they need to hurry up and build one in pearland, silverlake.

one time, i tried to get 20 bags of quicrete (sp?). it was 8am and there weren't many workers there. i asked the manager guy to get someone to help me load. i'm 5ft and weight about 100 pounds. those bags weigh 80 pounds. after waiting for over 10 min, i walked to the manager guy again and he GAVE ME THE HAND!!!!! he holds up his hand up to my face, stops me mid sentence and says he'll get to me when i can. i was flabbergasted. he actually gave me the hand.

my feedstore is expensive but the people are nice. i actually go there because the guy who loads used to work at this other feedstore, and when they sold that feedstore, i followed him to this new one. he's so knowledgeable about everything and has a great attitude. but this feedstore, the owners know more about cattle and horses. not much about poultry, so they actually end up asking me questions if raul (the loading guy) is not around and there's a customer asking questions. i know they've started carrying much more poultry stuff there since they've been letting me sell my excess poultry there and so people are buying more feed and equipment.

We moved from another state and when we went to a store to buy Purina because they were a Purina dealer they told us they don't carry that stuff because their own mix was better. Then when we had them order it for us they ordered 1 bag when we told them we had 5 horses. They told us they could order more but it would take 2 weeks and tried again to sale their own feed to us. So needless to say, we drive 30 min. away now to buy our feed:(

I went to the really local feed store, 1/2 mile away. And the kids at the counter, they were kids - they were my former students! 1 not even out of high school yet and the other still at the middle school! LOL. Usually I see adults working there, but not this Sunday morning.

Unforturnately, I had to tell them they had a sick duck in the brooder in the back! I left the store rather quickly after that. While I was there wandering, before seeing the duckling, I saw a wild pigeon wandering in and a squirrel in the "back yard" area.

And after that DH and I were talking and we realized that the two nearest feed stores don't carry hay or straw bales! I wanted to try a haybale garden. Gonna have to take a road trip, and in our monster vehicle - it is a "splurge" type of trip!

(dixygirl)I went to a TSC to buy horse stall mats. I asked the guys to load me up. They stood there insulting people that own horses right in my face and saying they did not think they would fit in my car. They did not lift a hand to put the mats in my car. They just stood there talking.

I had a problem with TSC, the last 3 times I went there they were out of both 50 and 25 lb. bags of chick starter and me with 48 baby chicks!

I was

by the third time and came home, went to the TSC website online and fired off an email. I got a quick, apologetic email response back and a phone call the next day from the manager of my local store who sold me as many 5 lb bags of starter as I wanted (PLENTY!) for the price per lb of the 50 lb bag.

Also got a follow up corporate email again apologizing for my inconvenience and asking if I would continue to do business with them. They have since ordered enough large bags to suit me. lol

Email them! Just go to "support" on their web site. WE are paying customers and don't need to put up with rudeness and inept ordering from any company.

I love my feed store i used to go there for feed when i had chickens 20 yrs ago. I walked in last month and they remembered me. Its family owned and been around for 40 of 50 years. It's named Zuba's that's their last name
I also am a small woman but the last time a guy tried to tell me what i wanted i told him "if i want your opinion i'll tell it to you" Stature doesn't matter its attitude
