At the vets here (i just called to get a quote so i could be accurate..

)
Spay $310 includes exam which they HAVE to do... pain meds which they need, and 58.00 pre-surgery blood work, (i dont ever get the blood work done though.. so minus 58.00 off that bill)
Neuter $256 (included all the above)
Annnd, if they dont have records of shots.. you gotta have them all done too!

No WONDER WHY there are stray kittens everywhere up here!

But we are now FINALLY lucky here, about an hour away we now have a Dakin animal shelter that has a spay/neuter clinic...
So i think there the surgery is around 60-80 bucks... and if they need a rabies its only $10 more...
SOOOOO thankful for that clinic! (cause you know i'm an animal horder..

Just think what it's going to cost you to get that monkey spayed.

I'll have to travel to state they are legal in... no vet here would touch them cause they're illegal.

*sigh* I'm never gonna get a baby monkey am i???

I live in the boondocks too, as you know. I have to travel an hour just to get to the vet.

I'll quote something by father once said when my sister was complaining about paying 200$ to get her dog spayed.

"I would do it myself as those prices, ya'know got everything you need, a brick, a handsaw, a pair of pliers and a whole crap*he used another word pertaining to poo*load of bandaids!"

I have two great country vets about 25 minutes from the house. I take the dogs to one and the cats to the other. I figure that way I am covered for any late night emergencies. Their rates are the same and they are about 5 minutes apart. The dog vet spayed Lucy the dog and it was easy peasy. The cat vet did Dodger and Fagin at the same time (both male). They were fixed a couple of years ago. Moon Pie was fixed about a year ago. She was more expensive, but it still wasn't bad. She recovered quickly and did fabulous.

I love both vets. They clearly love me as I have a herd of critters and we are at the vet pretty frequently to get everyone done.

I'm sorry it's so much where you are. We've had our share of rescues/dropped off, and for the latest little female cat, Tiny, it will cost $65 at the local spay/neuter clinic. We live in a 'depressed' area, so they're trying to make it affordable for people to spay & neuter instead of produce so many unwanted litters.

The shelter nearest us a a high-kill shelter, and they gas the animals in groups. I would never take any animal there if there was any way I could find another home for it. We did have to have Animal Control come once to pick up a semi-aggressive Boxer with a broken leg that came on our property and went after the outside cat who adopted us. I felt bad, but the dog wasn't safe to have around our pets.

We paid $20.00 to have our kitten neutered 5 years ago, and the price is still the same. We just got a puppy, she will need to be sprayed soon. I do not know if the place where we got the kitten neutered will do dogs, but think that they do.
Hope you find a place that will fix your cats.
