So I ordered some Bob White hatching eggs from a member on here last week. They told me that the eggs would be sent out on Wednesday..... I checked the tracking and they didn't even leave until Wednesday night. Here I sit on Saturday and they haven't arrived..... GRRRRR! Which means that they will be hung up in transit over the weekend, in God knows what kind of temperatures......GRRRRR! Not holding much hope that they will have any chance of hatching if I put them in the incubator when they finally do arrive. I am soooooo frustrated with this!!!

You should be fine! If they were fresh when they shipped them, then you should have a good 10+ days to set them, with a 1 to 2% attrition rate.

It's all good!

If it is any consolation, I have ordered quail hatching eggs in extreme cold and had them hung up over the weekend and the hatching rate was just fine. If they wrap and ship them with all of that fluff, or bubble wrap, they will be OK I think. I live in Colorado and have had eggs shipped in the last few months during storms galore from both sides of the US and things were OK even when hung up on a weekend. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

That is really good to hear!!! Thanks for the good info

The eggs have arrived !!!!! The stupid mail man put them in the mail box instead of leaving them at the post office for me to pick up.....

So now there is 15 Bob White eggs in the incubator!!!

Keeping my fingers crossed for a successful hatch..... I will post as we go along

Just let them rest, set them, and hatch them like you want them, and there should be no problems. You have like a whole week before you need to worry.

It's all good!

ummm..... didn't let them rest before I just went ahead and put them in the incubator. I wasn't sure if I should or not, and my Button eggs I put right in when they arrived. Hope I have as much luck as I had with the Buttons! Yay!!!

Most say you really should let them settle for 8 to 24 hrs before setting them. Do I see the next thing to keep you busy worrying about....

No, I will be worrying about the fact that my egg turner doesn't appear to have moved since I put them in.....? I will check it again in a little while. I haven't even had the darn thing for all that long really, so it better be working! I unplugged it and plugged it back in, so maybe it was just being fussy.... I hope!

Kind of embarrassing to say, but I found out what the problem was with the egg turner..........

The little arm that comes off the motor wasn't in the slot of the tray. Oops, all better now
