Guess the breed

Time for a game of guess the breed or breeds. We may or may not do a DNA test, not sure yet, but either way it's fun to get opinions on what he may be.

Some traits you can't see in photos:
Webbed feet
Long ears
Loves water/swimming
Good at retrieving and fetching
High food drive
High prey drive

He's 4-5 months, the shelter said he's a chocolate lab.

He has pretty long legs for a dachshund but I can definitely see the lab

absolutely some kind of Lab. possibly mix, but in the picture with the pool close up, the back paw is spread and I can see the webbing, which is common in waterfowl retrieving dogs like Labs and Poodles.

I'm going to change my guess to German Shorthaired Pointer, Lab, Pit.

Those have been our guesses, a few people irl have guessed pointer as well.

The shorter, high-set ears say pitbull to me. Pits are extremely common in mixes anyway.

Most anything that's not from a breeder, definitely pure bred, has some amount of pit in it around here.
