Guess the Horse Breed!

a little too chunky and short-legged to be this
Icelandic?

Possibly...
OK I will let you guys in on my secret... I don't really know what he was.
I bought him unregistered (didn't matter to me) and he just had the right temperament to be a drill horse. Lakota or "Lokie" turned out to be the best -absolute most devoted horse in the world and I don't have many pics of him. Being gaited was a surprise I discovered out trail riding. He had lovely thick main and tail, and hard-as-nails hooves (rarely needed shoes), stocky build like a tank but could still jump over a fence.

My only other best guess would be a Spotted Saddle Horse, or a cross of one of those (Icelandic or SSH)... or who knows??? Sorry I don't have a true answer. It's always been a mystery. He was a sheer delight to ride though.

Mary's next...
