Gun control and the second amendment....

Maybe we need more hammer control.

don't use the "girly grip" and choke up on the hammer.. hold it down closer to the butt of the handle which gives you more leverage

That's crazy. Back in 1918 it was considered a person's patriotic duty to keep chickens because of the need of self-reliance in face of the war effort. I see no reason why it shouldn't be such now, as we are now facing more problems than we did when the American Revolution began.

Sure its crazy.. but if they had their way it would be law...
and in their minds.. imposing their will and infringing on any of my rights is perfectly acceptable because it makes them feel "safer" knowing no one would own evil nasty poultry.

I agree. See, I'm not on here to convince YOU or MamaRoo or whoever else thinks they make themselves safer by trying to deny me my rights. I'm here to let others see how miserably your arguments fail in the face of the facts and common sense. I'll never convince you, and you'll never convince me - nobody ever backs down in public debates. It's the viewers who can be swayed, because they have no stake in it.

I'm not denying your rights. I am voicing an opinion, one you don't agree with, and that is fine. You do not have to be attacking my opinion or anyone else's to get your point across, but that is what you are doing. This isn't a debate, this is about you being right. I respect your opinion, try respecting someone else's.

Call me crazy, but I'm fairly freaking sure that you've been advocating a ban on rifles that you think are too big and scary for mere mortals like myself or Rebel, or any other mere non-military/police serf. I own one of them. I have the right to own it, hence, you suggesting that I should not be allowed to own it is advocating a violation of my rights.

By the way... I'm simply expressing my opinion of your opinion.

I'll ask again:

You people had your "Assault Weapons" Ban for ten years. It didn't work. What makes you think banning them again would make any difference?

What good would banning OMGBIGSCARYRIFLES do, considering that the vast majority of guns used in crime are dinky pocket pistols?

For crying out loud, what kind of restriction/ban/whatever are you actually advocating?!
I don't know about you... but I have much better aim with handguns...

the sad thing is my husband was planning on buying a new gun when he gets back from Afghanistan.. he's over there now serving in the army.. and unfortunately by the time he gets back the very gun he wants to get will probably be banned..

So in essence he's being penalized by serving his country..... because I'm sure they won't give him time to get one when he gets back if the ban is already in place.

From my understanding its already starting..some bigger stores that sell guns have suspended sales on some types of rifle sales..Dicks and Cheaper than Dirt are 2 that i've heard about so far..
NOT sure if its true though..maybe someone can check if they are interested..

Seriously? This is your argument? Penalized for serving his country? If you want him to have an assault rifle, just go buy one. There are no penalties involved.

Tell them to try "soap"...it's still widely available, until they take away our rights to that and start rationing that too... ;)

Man you are lucky. Most of my buds are adamant they have better aim with rifles than handguns. I have better aim with rifles because I have better stability less jerking of hands and my finger not pulling exactly straight back has a less impact on my shot.

I don't care how many guns you have - I want them registered, and I want to know that YOU have been trained to safely use them, that YOU are mentally compitant, and the YOU take proper steps to keep your weapons out of the hands of others. I think if YOU want a whole basement full of guns, the YOU should be subject to stricter scrutiny.

Maybe some of these steps happen with the transfer of a gun, but since I can trade my FryDaddy for a rifle, clearly lots of times these things don't happen.
