Yes. I'm getting old and my eyesight isn't what it used to be. I'm after gray squirrels. I used to be able to hit them but now I'm missing more than I'm hitting. I just want to cut the population down. They chewed the tubing to the windshield washers on our truck. It was a real pain to put new tubing in.
This is a picture from another website but is the exact rifle.

Another thought... Did you change ammo brand? I’ve gotta couple of .22s that are very picky about what I feed them....

My browning T bolt only likes Remington Eley Target ammo... which unfortunately runs about $9 a box

In any case if you’ve recently changed brands that might be something that is causing accuracy issues too.

It's my eyes. So I'm looking for something like a peep, but apparently none so far will work on that model. I'm open for suggestions. I put out a couple of small paper plates to shoot at. Recently a gunsmith did service it. I was hitting them all but now I'm missing more than I'm hitting and I can't see the sight. I need to get a cataract removed. Now since spring the gray squirrels are showing back up in good numbers. We also have fox squirrels and have no problems with them. The gray squirrels nearly chewed through the cable wire at the pole next to the house and on the pole at the end of our driveway. Need to cull them. When I buy boxes I usually get boxes of 100 cartridges. There were a couple of times when 2 squirrels were lined up perfectly that when I shot I hit both squirrels. I am careful about how I shoot.

Your greys are more destructive than ours. Never heard of one chewing threw cable that size. Ours just chew thew soffits and nest in the walls out of the insulation and if a wire happens to be in the nest, then they chew it.

Ok, I take it back.. ours are more destructive.

I think yours are too. Here it's cable TV wire and the windshield washer tubing on the truck. How do you control them? A friend of our used to have fox squirrels where he lives. Well no more, the grays have taken over and they're starting to take over here.

No fox squirrels here. I control the grays with a .17 hmr, or a .22 mag.

The .17 is in the house, the .22 mag is in the shop. Got the yard covered no matter where I am.

Use a shotgun, plus shooting up in the air is safer with a shotgun. The 22 bullets have to come down somewhere. Easier to aim also.

We have fox squirrels here with greys and a fox squirrel is twice the size of a grey. I shot one fox and two greys one day last year and they were the same weight processed.

I have a 410 but the bolt is stuck and I can't eject the spent shell. A gunsmith not long ago went over the .22. He was an egg customer but I don't have his name or number or I would call him to service the 410. He did a good job on the .22 and the .22 is quieter. More people moving in around us. Originally most of the properties around here are 5 to around 10 acres with a few properties of more or less. Behind us the people sold 2.5 of their 10 acres and on one side of us sold 5 of their 10 acres. Across the street they have 20 acres but have divided 10 acres of it into parcels so I'm sure it's just a matter of time before they start selling those properties. When we first came here the road we live on was a dirt road and since it's been paved. I used to trap with leg traps but now only use live traps. Last month I caught 2 cats in a live trap. I think they were feral cats. They sure were feisty. I let them out. I was actually after some coyotes. Here I see them most every night. Since they have nothing that preys on them, they are all over. Another neighbor who has goats never puts them in his barn and the coyotes killed the goat kids. His billy died so now he won't have to any more kids for the coyotes. I don't kill the fox squirrels only the grays.
Here is a fox I caught going into the coyote trap. First I got them used to going into the traps then finally set them. This one was coming out during the day and killed my favorite bird during the middle of the day.

I have another trap in the right side of the picture.

not really a gun. but kinda a gun. not sure what to call it.

but i bought a military surplus polish flare gun from 1952 for 26.5mm flares.

now i got to find one of those adapters for common flares of today to use it (planning to carry it when in the woods in case i ever get lost)

Waving. Just finished taking 3 gold in the state games and getting all my qualifications for Swiss Army, Swiss RCMP quals, and the 50 meter. My eyes are getting old and some of these distances. GLORY! So until next summer, it's back to ground squirrels, tree squirrels and coop raiders.
