Gun Owners and Non-Gun Owners should come to a Meeting of the Minds

I would like to know why Americans are afraid to protect themselves. What happened to the pioneer spirit that enabled us to settle this land. I am constantly hearing protect us,do this for us, dont do this for us. The government is now at an alarming level of intrusiveness in our daily lives as we scream for more services and give them the in road to all of our rights. Too many people are afraid to stand up for themselves. This is the basis for the anti gun hysteria that permeates through this country. You can get killed standing up for yourself,
But you will deffinetly die waiting for someone to get there to stand up for you.

They beleive they are safe behind the castle walls and meet any suggestion to the contrary which might dispel the illusion with hostility.

But then I believe we are never safe and even less safe when we become complacent. It is of such importance to me that I become impassioned about it and meet what I perceive to be the very complacency that will eventually render me a servant to those who govern with hostility.

marginalizing all opinions contrary to their beleif or demonizing the opposition seems to be the norm in this society. We the people should rule by majority not by whomever is more impassioned and squeaks the loudest

That's why it was set up as a Republic with strong states and a weak Fed. So people of a like mind could live together the way THEY wanted to.

Federalization has destroyed the old Republic and now 49% of us have to live contrary to our beliefs.

Good formula for civil war.

I fail to see how you would separate the right to own guns from politics. Just one of my many failures.

We have had 48 pages of great conversation and one warning to go back on topic.

Personally my fav fire arm is my .22 Mag Derringer.( 2 ahot and cute if a gun can be called cute that is.)
After the fire 3 years ago I go no where with out it clipped on my belt, yes I have a concealed carry permit.
Fire Marshal refused to investgate that the fire was intentionally set. against the Fire Chief in our town.
Fire Dept couldnt put out the fire , it kept reigniting. the reason the Fire Marshal was called in , 3 seperate fires in town and the Marshal decides if i keep y mouth shut and didnt push the arson fact that the insurance would pay off sooner.
I carry everywhere legal if they can burn my house down in the middle of the night, they may be bold enough to come out and try it again in broad daylight.

EA: My Personal weapon of choice though is a 9 iron, dont have to be close just accurate.
