Gun Owners and Non-Gun Owners should come to a Meeting of the Minds

Personally, I think I'm better off clinging to my religion and guns than depending on the government, no matter who is in charge. If the POTUS, or anybody else, wants to look down their noses at me for it, too bad. It just shows their arrogance.

I don't know, but it needs to get back on track right now. Any further comments regarding women in combat will be deleted from now on.

I didn't. Poorly worded, perhaps, but nothing wrong with the core intent.

He seems to do a lot of poorly wording, not sure which is worse, bad intent or plain ignorance in a POTUS. Now you guys started this soooo you can keep at it or let it drop. It is off topic but I darn sure am not going to sit back while you and the beak take pot shots.

Okay, getting BACK to topic...

I think you miss the core point. The larger reason for a lack of ammo in my area and many others is due people panicking. They think the government is about to take away their guns. However one wants to view Obama's fund raising comments, it just ain't gonna happen. People will always be able (indeed, SHOULD be able) to own guns in this country. Anybody who thinks they won't isn't looking at the situation realistically. The only thing that could cause such a distorted view of reality is they must be listening to too much propaganda in my view, propaganda that only makes rich gun and ammo manufacturers even richer.

Well, that and makes it difficult for me to get my .22 shells.

I was reading in another thread how someone was woken in the middle of the night ran out to her coop armed with a baseball bat, She had heard coyotes. I had to comment after someone spoke of coyotes not attacking a human, child yes maybe etc etc.
While there are many ways to combat a coyote a ball bat is not the perfect weapon of choice unless one has the upper body strength to endure the battle.
I also understand that a broom handlle in the heat of a mink fight is not a good choice also.( I still think back on the stupidity of that fight, it certainly could have gone badly)

Its strange that even though there are guns in my house I never thought to grab the gun at the door but in fact grabbed the stupid brrom, all the while yelling for hubby to get the stupid gun, but then again the gun was useless A) because it was unloaded, B) the shells couldnt be found C) I wouldnt have let him fire off rat shot in the coop anyway.
At least it was there as an option no matter the A B C of it all.

You are exactly correct Buster that is where all the ammo is going, people are hoarding it. They are turning it out at the same rate they always have. Just bide your time, once all the hoarders run out of money there will plenty of cheap ammo to go around.

I have to disagree, though. There are MANY MANY people who would try to get guns out of the hands of the people. They have tried many times in the past, and they still are.

How can you say it will 'never happen'? Every other 'civilized' country in the world has bans on guns, some go farther then others, but they are all trying to achieve the same goal. The UN has even tried to get gun bans passed.

Why would you say history is 'propaganda'???
