He seems to do a lot of poorly wording, not sure which is worse, bad intent or plain ignorance in a POTUS. Now you guys started this soooo you can keep at it or let it drop. It is off topic but I darn sure am not going to sit back while you and the beak take pot shots.

Okay, getting BACK to topic...

I think you miss the core point. The larger reason for a lack of ammo in my area and many others is due people panicking. They think the government is about to take away their guns. However one wants to view Obama's fund raising comments, it just ain't gonna happen. People will always be able (indeed, SHOULD be able) to own guns in this country. Anybody who thinks they won't isn't looking at the situation realistically. The only thing that could cause such a distorted view of reality is they must be listening to too much propaganda in my view, propaganda that only makes rich gun and ammo manufacturers even richer.

Well, that and makes it difficult for me to get my .22 shells.

Buster I am done with this line, drop it please, there is no need for this petty politicking.

Here is a link that shows a listing of gun shows for all of you looking to buy. I don't know about everywhere else, but in Nebraska the Fremont gun shows seem to be the best. I have always gotten better deals there. There are lots of tables and quite a bit of competition for business.

Yes, and don't buy at the first table you come too .. we found prices further inside that were HALF of what the first few tables were ...

Thanks for the link. I want one of those little derringer shotguns to wear around the property, but they are pretty steep in the store.

If you find a gun you like, get the dealer's business card and write the price on the back. Then if you find similar guns at another table, start negotiating with the dealers for the best price. Don't ever pay sticker. There is a lot of fat in some of the tagged prices and room to bargain. I got $50 off a 9mm and about $100 off my Judge this way.

Yeah, the guy in the gun area at Bass Pro Shop in OKC (I check in about shells every time I visit a different area, hoping to get lucky) said manufacturers are churning them out as fast as they can, 24/7, but they just can't meet the demand. Even he thought it was crazy.

I'll remember these guys who are jacking up the prices right now when they come back down, though. Not gettin' my business.

Perhaps. But many of them might just be capable of observing the direction things have been heading over the years and making clear minded interpretations of the data.

Much the way the stock market fluctuates wildly when sampled at a close view it always moves steadily up over the long view.

That is how our second amendment rights have progressed over time only the graph is going down. Sure it fluctuates up and down and that gives the impression that rights that have been lost might be recovered in the next round of legislation, but if you look at the graph from way back its pretty clear that rights are being lost and never recovered.

One of the main things is a burden of justification being place on the citizens. They should not have to justify anything. If they want a military grade weapon they should have the right to own it having passed the background checks.
The direction things are going is to have us all with single shot rifles or shotguns and nothing more powerful because it isn't needed for legitimate hunting.

The second amendment is about protecting ourselves against an overzealous government, not hunting. We should have access to weaponry capable of making our own military think twice about obeying an order against the people.

Fortunately, I have more confidence in our military as it stands than that, but this new civilian police force that is being proposed I do not.

You should make your own, its very satisfying. I used to reload so I could shoot, now I shoot so I can reload!
Unless your talking .22 of course, can't reload those.

Of course there has been a few bills proposed that would do away with my hobby should they get any traction.

There are always better deals the further you go from the doors. impulse buyers never get further than 20 ft from the door.
I know when we were setting up craft shows ( i know off topic a bit but valid) We always set the higher end purchases up at the door.
Its the same with Reptile Shows, all the higher end reptiles are nearest the door.
What I have found is that the higher priced firearms at the door are no better or less quality than the ones for lesser money further in.
Just better known , bigger name vendors.
The lesser priced may not be as well known but often have equal or different merchandise than the Big Names.
Edit: because of lessor and lesser ! geesh
