Gun Owners and Non-Gun Owners should come to a Meeting of the Minds

DA action revolver to auto is really a personal choice. Though the DA revolver has always been considered safer than autos. The main safety for a weapon is the brain. Modern DA revolvers are completely safe with a round in the all six or five chambers. Before the advent of fancy trigger locks we always trained officers with DA revolvers to store the weapon with a padlock behind the trigger on the trigger guard. The weapon is incapable of firing in this condition.

BTW all autos are capable of jamming or malfunctioning, many times the ammo is responsible for the problem. Sometimes it may be a weapon malfunction. This may only be once in 100,000,000 but if that once happens in a combat situation it is once to many. Hopefully the jam happens on a range, when the responsibility of loading ammo is on someone else there are no guarantees in life and death. For personal defense I am very comfortable trusting a revolver for the needs. If working I prefer a auto, with a backup.

I had seen a few of those in my days, was it an Iver?

One of is, although I don't know how safe it is anymore.. Mainly decoraction. The one I use is an old H&N that I shoot .38 S&W's out of. I generally use a black felt tip marker and color the casings of my snake loads so I know which ones are shot shells at a quick glance

Good point . . . . Many, Many more people are killed from drunk drivers every year than from guns - in our country.

We should ban cars ... they kill ..

if they supported an all-out ban on guns, or the (justified IMHO) repeal of the outdated 2nd Amendment.

What makes it outdated? It specifies arms. It doesn't mention the technology used to create them.

Do you think tyranny is ever going to go out of fashion? Or become impossible to implement?

Are you in denial of what human nature really is and just what it can and will do if allowed to?

Ted Kennedy has killed more people with his car than I have with my gun.

As to the OP, I don't think a meeting of the minds is possible. It for the most part has to do with two basic (but not necessarily all inclusive) views of what actually can happen in society today. Those who believe tyranny is always just around the corner and those who believe it could never happen.
