We got a Judge Public defender. Shoots regular round and shotgun shells too!!! They also make rounds that contain large flat copper disks. My husband prefers shooting it with 000 buckshot.

Rebel you really made me think again about this. For the price of a compact auto like a Glock you can get two 5 shot snubbie .38 s.. You have ten shots on tap without reloading and no jams to clear. Just a thought. By the way, my back up is a .38spl. Colt Police Positive, I still have a soft spot for wheel guns.

A revolver is MUCH MORE DEPENDABLE than a semi-auto pistol. AND, if you can't hit your target with the 5 or 6 rounds available in the revolver...you ain't gonna hit nuthin' with the semi-auto pistol either.

Would you carry/keep for defense a auto pistol if threw disability could not manipulate the slide to load or clear jams on your own(shooting one handed) or would you take the hit on capacity an get a revolver?

Yep. I would not risk safety over carry capacity. Also you can't miss enough to win a gunfight.

I carry a Les Baer 1911 in .45 (Utah CCP) :) My biggest worry is that I would draw my gun when it turns out I did not need to. Soooooo not good.

You can get a .22 magnum revolver with seven shots. It may not be a .357 magnum or .44 magnum, but at 10 yards it has plenty of power.

410 shells from that short barrel don't have much power, and aren't that accurate either.

The whole concept of the 410 revolvers is just a sales gimmick, since there is nothing they do that can't be done better with another firearm

Check this page out. Fascinating view on caliber, from the viewpoint of a morgue worker. I carry with Magtech hollow points. Big hole turns into a bigger hole.

Didn't read all of that but though what I read was interesting. Though I question anyone saying they live an work in Atlanta an talking about a Georgia CCW permit.

There is a FBI study that was done over many years that shows that caliber is not important. Don't remember the actual numbers but the difference between all the hand gun calibers when counting how many shots it takes to stop someone the difference was hardly anything. The average for all was between 2 or 3 shots.
