Gun suggestions for predators-really

I use a 30-30 because the predator for whatever reason is always a certain fighter breed dog type. It is an easy shot though. I see vicious animal attacking cages. I yell at the dog. Dog runs for me growling. I have taken down two of them this month because I became just as vicious after they killed my D'uccles.

as far a s a rifle goes, I have to agree 1000000% with G Wiz and Kristen regarding the .17 HMR..... out of the box, savage makes a wonderfull gun.
a 410 is always great too for moving targets that are close but you stand the chance of hitting unintended targets, plus some critters can stand up to a 410 blast at range.
for a pistol..... look towards "single stack" autos.... .40 cal is great, depending on how much recoil you want. .357 sig is a nice round too. Ask around to see if someone will let you shoot theirs to find a caliber your comfortable with.

just so you all know. The .380 auto ammo is almost impossible to obtain and when you do find it is can be as high as a buck a round.

Amazing, I know.

You're kidding, right?
You can buy 380 everywhere and the UMC brand is cheap. I used to buy it at Wal mart. I have a Sig 232 and Kel-tec 3AT, so I shoot that caliber a bit.

For varmits, I prefer a .22 rifle like a Winchester '98.

Right now its darn near impossible to find ANYHTING other than shot shells. Even 22 LR are back ordered around here.
Too many folks hording ammo they say...

A BB airgun that you can pump will definitely kill anything rabbit-size or smaller, and scares the daylights out of dogs. At max pressure, it can likely kill something dog-size or smaller. Don't know about anything bigger than that, though. Mine is pellet-compatible as well. Unfortunately, accurate range is pretty small.

For us the 22 is the most accurate. We have bigger guns if more stopping power is needed. This is my favorite. I bought it after the neighbor dogs wiped out most of my flock last year. It's called the judge and can be loaded with 410 shells or 45 rounds. With the 410's it's kind of like a legal little sawed off shotgun. It looks big, but the grip is angled in such a way that it fits smaller hands.

If you want to spend a little I would go with a AR-15 chambered in .223

The ammo is cheep and easy to find. It can take game up to coyotes and bobcats. Even can use it as a deer rifle if you load the right rounds.

Also you can quickly get off extra shots if you need to.

The round is capabile to shots out to 300-400yrds depending on the load

So .223 FTW
