You do realize that you cannot keep bettas together? Even if they are different sexes? Once the female lays her eggs and both fish put them in the nest, you need to remove the female from the tank. The male will take care of the eggs and fry, but you have to remove him within a day or two of the eggs hatching. Breeding Bettas is not an easy task by any means.

yes I have done my reserch so he has just started bilding a bubble nest and I know that I have to remove the female after she is done laying her eggs but she is in a smaller bowle right now here is a pic I took last night

I thought they were supposed to be introduced slowly, not like all up in their faces..of course i dont know if you didnt introduce them before putting them in the tank

I'm on a fish forum similar to this one, and I seem to remember reading that fish can 'store' sperm. So if she is pre-hit (and I'm right) she could have babies a few times before she's 'clean'.

a female guppy can store sperm from a male for up to 8 litters (8 months)
thats why prof breeders will seperate fry at only about a week old to make sure they stay virgins for there males they pick.

also about hte half black and snakeskin your likely to get most if not all halfblacks halfblack is very dominant so unless your working on getting halfblack guppies dont use halfblack females or males BUT you can breed the halfblack out by breeding a halfblack with a none halfblack the black will be diluted then breed one of those halfblacks to another non halfblack youll end up with even more diluted black more like a dark grey.
thats what i did with my halfblacks becuase i preferd the body patterns (snakeskin and cobra markings)

On aquabid look up lotsoffish he has the best guppies around. Literally. One of the breeds that he sold literally looked like a rainbow, he said everytime somebody saw them he sold out on the day he was ready to sell them.

Does anyone know how I can find or breed some neon pink or hot pink guppies. It was popular in the 80's and I used to remember having them in baby blue, yellow, neon green, silver blues, and having mosaic patterns.

All I have is a German blue offspring that his father was a pure German blue rainbow. I tried getting all pale blue females with mosaic tails to pass down and only have three males, one survived after a year, out of that trio I bought from the pet store. Not cheap either.

You CAN keep them together its just might not end out well, I kept a pair together through the end and they lived happily ever after.

It's not something I would advise. I'd say you got lucky.
