it really has been different "getting ready" for this one. lots more worried faces in the stores than before katrina. i know i have a pit in my stomach. we all survived katrina, lost most everything but lived though it. man o man i just don't want to go though that again.

I hope we don't see anything worse than we did with Rita. We just got a lot of high wind and a little rain, but we were without water for 4 days and power almost a week. The only damage we really had was a bunch of branches and a few tree tops down, but others here saw a little worse. At least things weren't as bad for us as those the next county over.

Good Luck you guys! Really, I hope you are all prepared and everything, these storms can be funny, (weird funny) Hopefully it will just do it storm thing and pass over you all. Best of luck! If you can, let us know what's going on~

We appreciate everybody's prayers & good thoughts. We're in central Louisiana & are no longer an evacuation city but at high risk--it is coming straight over us.
No place to go; in fact have evacuees from Lake Charles coming in the morning, so we will dig in & hope for the best.

I do admit after 3 years ago, I'm ready to sell & move somewhere else--where there are no hurricanes!
