Something I've noticed on these predator threads is that the people that give their "opinion" on treating the pest humanely seem to get bashed. And labeled Tree Huggers or "Another one of those". It is the request of the OP to hear how to remove it? Correct? Removing it humanely is one suggestion, blowing away with a .50 sniper rifle and set it on fire with ether while drowning it is another. Those that post to let it live have that right, right? Do they deseverve to be attacked and ask "Are they fer real?" by people that seem to enjoy bragging about how they shoot everything or at people. I by no means am a "tree hugger", and have done my 8 yrs in the Army and know how to handle every fire arm from a 9mm to a .50. I would personally shoot certain pests but free others. I just don't understand why the rules get thrown at someone that is giving their suggestion, just because it differs from someone elses "macho" way of dispatching. There seems to be some on hear that like to post there overboard "Kill Kill Kill" just to bait others. Dispose of a pest the best way you see fit, make your suggestion and move on. Why sit around and antagonize those that disagree with you because you can hide behind the "rules". Just my observation...

I'm not certain about peroxide, but she's certainly right about being able to put an animal to sleep. I've used the method to cull a chick. I used baking soda and white vinegar, and it created enough carbon dioxide to first knock out an animal, then kill it.

This is actually a great suggestion, if there was a way to enclose the animal- a weak solution can be used to keep an animal unconscious without killing it, if the OP wanted to try to release it w/o getting sprayed.

On a serious side, if you've ever come home after a scorching hot day and found a skunk had sprayed close by your open bedroom window you shoot every one on sight!!

Punk Rock Chicken has a point, but chic chick and tiffanyh both sort of attacked the non-treehuggers. Perhaps they also should have stated their opinions in a non-denigrating fashion. I would quote but haven't quite gotten the hang of that, yet.

The pro-kill types just kind of go 'kill' and the con-kill types seem to get offended by it and did indeed seem to take a holier than thou and provoking attitude toward the pro-kill until they were warned.

Here in Ohio you can trap pest predator, legal you must kill them or call DNR so they can. Releasing them is illegal!!!!!!!!

Glad for that law, dont need more drop off here to get my birds.

IMOHO I think poisoning and gasing are sick, but you haven't seen a post of me attacking all the people who suggest it.
