Please don't be a stranger. I know alot of us would like to know how you are, what's going on in your freshman year in high school!

That's a really exciting time for you! So please take care, let us know what's up, OK?

Oh Maxx! I am so very sorry. Predator attacks are always such a shock to us when they come. You may be asking yourself now how you could have prevented this, or you may be feeling a certain amount of guilt, sure that you could have done something to prevent the attack. The truth of the matter, sweet Maxx, is that sometimes, this crap just happens. Even the most well thought out coop and run, and the best security procedures and plans are no match for a determined predator. It is truly tragic when it happens, but there is not much you could have done beyond the measures you had already taken.

Give yourself time to heal, Maxx. There is wisdom beyond your years in recognizing that your priorities are changing as you continue to mature. Kudos to you for understanding that sweetheart!

I'm fairly certain that the day will come again when you have both the time and the desire to have chickens in your life. When you're ready, we'll be here, ready and eager to welcome you back into the fold. But there is no need to be a stranger. Unless of course, being here becomes too much of a painful reminder of what you have lost. I fully understand. Know that you go with all of the best wishes and warmest regard for your future.

But please! Do stop by from time to time to let us know how you are. OK?

Maxx,
Im so sorry this happened! I truly feel terribly for you and your birds. Hopefully in the future you will continue in poultry

Sincerely,
Mark

I am so sorry and I have loads of empathy for you. I had a very similar situation in the past few weeks. I have cried my eyes out. In fact my husband was teary when he had to call me at work to tell me about my babies. I know life is busy for you but eventually you may decide that you would like to pick up your hobby again and we will be here to support you when you do

Hey guys, thanks for all of the comments. I may not give up chickens just yet. We have had three come back in the yard. They came from the front of my across the street neighbors house. We caught two of them and the other managed to slip away. So I will look for her before dark. Also we were told by our neighbors that they saw the coyote about at 5-6 in the morning. So as we speak right now my dad is cleaning up his shotgun. We are getting up at 4:30 a.m. to go coyote hunting in the back window of the house. We set up one of the dead carcasses at the back of the house by the coops because that is where they first saw him. But not to worry the survivors are in the opposite coop locked up safely they will not be caught in the "crossfire" if we see the coyote goin for the bait. Once again thank you guys for your support.

I'm guessing by the numbers it was more than one yote. And by the looks of the sorry job they did at consuming the birds maybe a mother and her pups, at this time the pups are learning to hunt and alot of times it turns into more of a game than actual eating. Thats how it is this time here in Michigan anyways. Sorry for yhour loss, hope you guys get the culprits.
