Had a rough day ... thanks for the verbal hugs!!

High-centered her?! I'm sorry but that sounded just toooo funny!

I realize it really is sad, but my goodness-high centered her?! We're dealing with a broken door handle on the door of the coop right now. This was a very heavy, sturdy handle, and it broke!!!!

Hubby won't be home until 11:30 tonight to fix it with a new one!!!

I hope my girls and their guys will be o.k. while the door is cracked open so we can get in and out for now.

Hope things go better for you tomorrow, Tori! What we put up with to live in beautiful Alaska!

Although come to think of it, I wouldn't mind a vacation to Hawaii right now!!

I can't believe the heavy duty door knob broke because of the cold weather!!!!

You got room for 24 extra chickies in your coop? Might take you up on that offer!! Course, the airlines might not appreciate the wonderful smell coming from my suitcases if I sneaked them on board the airplane!

Make that room for 100 chickies?

I would so love 70° temps right now!!!

I'm not exactly sure how we do it, but going out 10 times a day dressed like the Michelan Man with only my eyes visible is helping.

I out to see if I can find the picture someone took of me at work on the Slope at -55°F...

... oh, and we've seen a LOT of these lately...

What?! Isn't that how you usually dress, Tori?!

We've had a lot of moose in our yard lately as well, they keep eating the leaves off of our apple and pear trees-just so long as they don't eat the branches!! Hubby wouldn't be too happy about that!!

Wow and I'm complaining about our weather.......fantastic pics though Tori.......

I have now lost two of my girls to the cold......they whre two f my resuced battery hens who have neber experienced cold like we are having at the momnet, luckily the rest of the former rescues are doing fine as our the rest of my girls,,, although the little bantams wont come out till 11.00am....too cold for the little feet.

Have put extra thick straw beds down in their stables, it is now 10 inches deep, hoping it will help keep them warmer, and am using plastic sacks in the doors of the stables to stop any draughts....luckily the water inside the stables hasn't frozen..so i think it will work....

I don't know how you are surviving in those temps.......I don't envy you Michelin Woman!

We'll MAKE room for you snow-birds!!!! Come on down..pack a swim suit, I'm sure our winter feels like your summer!!

-33.9°F this morning. Again. (-36.6°C ). Weather forecast has now changed a couple of times, and the chance of snow is lessening in our area. Highs in the teens by Thursday night, though, so maybe tomorrow will bring the relief we're looking for?

I'm afraid to go out and do the morning rounds. Even with 5 extra lamps in the coop it's only 8°F out in the coop.
