When they run they kinda do a run, hop, skip and then take off like a plane. They crack me up. I had to cull my first silkie yesterday. She was sickly and small and never got better so I figured the best thing to do was cull her. I don't think she could see very well either.

You did the right thing. It doesn't get much easier but the conviction that you are doing the right thing gets stronger. I've had to cull 30 to 50 chicks, quail, and full grown birds. It's part of having a flock. Processing chickens for food is so much easier to me than euthanizing a sick bird. Good job lovemychix.
