Hair Disaster

I did brush before I did the cap but not after. Probably should of but I didnt last time so I didnt think that would be a problem. Probably what happened when the neighbor was pullng my hair thru was it bunched up under the cap and no I didnt brush after. It turned out the way I wanted, just didnt expect a matt the size of Texas on the backside of my head. Wont do that again. Here is a pic of the mess I cut out. I tried taking a pic of how my hair turned out but the flash kept making the top of my head look grey!!

Wow sorry to see all that hair loss. My wife just looked at the picture and her eyes popped out of her head.

She says long hair like yours should be foiled and not pulled through a cap.

Tell wifey I hear her loud and clear!! Never again. Took me ten years to get my hair down to my waist. Course, past couple of years, its fallen out due to stress and pre-menapause. So now its just past my shoulder blades, barely. This will take me at least a year to grow back out where I had to cut it. Should of listened to my first instint, DONT DO IT!! Never again.

So sorry for the snag (bad pun)... but one good thing about hair is that it grows back... eventually... as I learned though one odd experience...

Been here. First time my (later to be) MIL met me I had black hair... next DAY I had ORANGE... next day I had WHITE... next day I brown.

Black is the color of my Dad's hair, Mom did NOT like that one little bit so she bullied me into bleaching it... hence the orange... and she hated the orange and swore it could be fixed so bleach again... which true did get rid of the orange, turned it white but FRIED, literally snapping off like straw... then she decided she hated the white and got out the Clairol brown.

And of course everyone (mil included) thought the whole thing was MY idea. Nope, I liked my dark hair TYVM... but try convincing anyone that it's your Mom that's the nut and not you...

omg thats alot of hair, you cut out. lesson learned i hope. i am terrible with the box dye hair, i have gone from blonde-brown-black in just a few months time. bad idea!! because of the over dye i have done, had to get a (bob style) short hair. not happy, considering it took forever to grow my hair. amazing what 9.00 box dye will do. i need to visit a real hair salon when it comes to dying hair. i really do. my mother just offered me a birthday gift (her paying for a proffesional hair dye) i just can see pampering myself like that. spending 100.00 on hair? o well. sorry you had the experience you did. i like the color tho!

Actually, thats the bottom part of my hair that grew out. Half my hair was my normal dishwater brown<medium brown with some blonde>. I had been letting it grow out because as I stated before, my hair had been falling out due to stress and me going thru the change. I decided I didnt want two tone hair anymore and didnt want to go the all one color route as I had before. I remembered the bonnet thing was a pain in the butt but decided to do it anyway so I would have my natural color with some blonde highlights. Wrong!!! Lets just say I look like I have hat hair without having worn the hat. My hair grows slowly< except for my bangs> so Im figuring at least a year for it to look normal again. Thankfully, I usually wear it in a pony tail so no one will notice, I hope.

Holy smokes that is a lot of hair!!! I personally would NOT have cut it out, I would have sat for a few minutes with REALLY good conditioner in my hair and slowly combed a section at a time out while the conditioner was in it.

That's why I don't color my hair anymore. Why do it if I don't HAVE to. Someday when I am older and grayer I will probably end up using box-color but NOT now! Au natural is uaually better IMO anyway. Sorry you lot so much hair!

I thought about the conditioner AFTER. I thought if I split it I could comb or brush it out in sections. I instead ended up brushing out huge wads of hair. Next time, going to a professional.

That is what we do do me and my girls when we used it. The conditioner helps and gets in the holes then redo it again after you take the cap off.
