I took in 3 puppies at 2 weeks old that Ive been hand raising. They are now 4 weeks old and have a vet appointment at the end of the week, BUT all 3 are having skin problems. I was able to see the mom and she was in horrible shape, but the owners wouldnt let me have her, just the pups. They were kept outside in a muddy/dirty pen. The mom stopped producing milk and 3 other puppies died.
When I first got them, their feet and tails were all covered in scaley stuff, but Ive been putting hydrocortisone spay on it. Its not scaly now.

Does any one have any idea what this is?

Almost positive this is the case. It can be treated with OTC meds for humans. Lotrim AF or tinactin. Also Vetricyn says it works on ringworm, haven't tried it for this but love the product.

They are being fed goat's milk (being weaned off it) and eating softened blue diamond puppy food
They arent itching.

They will be going to the vet on Friday, but I just want a heads up on what it could be.

I didnt see any hairloss on momma, but I wasnt able to get too close to her. She wasnt a nice dog

Poor thing was probly abused.

The lighting on the toe does make it look infected but its really not.
Ive been checking their feet and tails to make sure they arent infected, etc.

(sorry ment to say infected, not swollen)
