3:30 this morning we got 3+ inches of rain. Several chicks were killed, but some were wet, dirty and shivering. We have brought them in and rinsed under warm running water. They are in a pool with wood shavings and a heat lamp now. Soft, low chirping with some on their haunches and some lying on their sides. Is there a way to dry them off more quickly--like using a blow dryer? And would pedialyte help to boost their energy? All are between 3-4 weeks old. They are too old to stay in past their rejuvenation/drying point (can fly), so I'd like to give them a boost before they go back out this afternoon. Can't go to town b/c of infant with fever to pick up anything, so home remedies would be ideal.
thanks in advance for any help/advice.
