Hey MTG you there

why is the chewing/yawning motions important?? He's doing that now and blood is barely there.
Yes. I think (partly just speculation, if I'm wrong please someone correct me) that the yawning/chewing induces the contractions that make the yolk absorb. So they yawn/chew to induce those contractions. If they're still trying to induce the contractions (yawning/chewing) then there must still be yolk. So you don't want to assist until there is no blood/chewing/yawning.

Well, good news, he's here. Yolk sack absorbed. Did it by himself.

Oh no. :hit
He is truly deformed. I think it will be impossible for him to live. You can try, but... I doubt he will make it long. If he seems in pain you'll have to cull him. He may not even be able to function. I'm sorry. What breed is he? You might want to let the seller know, could be a problem with the parent stock. Can you get better pics?
I'm really sorry. That's probably why he had problems hatching.

red dorkin. Seller didn't know how to pack, sent in an egg carton in an unmarked box. Four broken eggs, incubated the eight and this was lucky number seven. I number my eggs so I can keep better records. Seller sent four replacements eggs. Perfectly packaged after I explained how. Two were growing but one quit between 7 and 10 days. Other looks good for now. The first batch was just too scrambled. Brave number seven tried to make it anyway.

Really?!?! That's awesome! It looks so terrible in the pics. I've never dealt with deformed chicks before though.
my day I think it's awesome but I do see you point. I had kept the humidity as high as possible because the membrane was exposed so the paper towel i put in for him to stand on was wet. Normally I would j's touch a chick until they were dry, but figured it he's gonna die he should be warm and dry. Pulse i wanted to see the deformed side. He didn't like being on his good side and was complaining. I had my kindle fire and took a video of him peeping at me. Btw he does have another she but it's very tiny. Will post picture. Video won't load. But pick should
