*Halloween Countdown*

M and Ms, Snickers, Kit Kat, Twix, oh, and anything Reeses! OMG, those are so good! Everyone here mostly stocks those lame fruit flavored candies, however.

Ours uses an endless supply of fruit snacks and Almond Joys. i think I got a truffle one year

They have all those little Pez candies. One year I saw a couple teen girls go crazy over a 100 grand. I got a 100 grand at the next house and opened it. "It doesn't taste that good" was all I said.

One year I barely got any candy at all because we trick-or-treated at the mall!

And then when we finally found one candy, my mom said, "Give it to the soldier." WHAT

I would've stolen it if I'd gotten the chance!

Christmas??? I'm trying to not think about christmas! I've been watching the NORAD tracks Santa videos on youtube (with the sound low or off) and I played a Christmas game yesterday. Will not play it again until Thanksgiving. I'm using Halloween to train myself out of Christmas! OKAY, just for reference- but I'm not making a countdown out of it until Halloween is over.

There is 125 days left until Christmas.

You could always get a PM chain going. Or reserve the chatroom for an hour or two.

Or just start you own thread.

I'm not looking to count down until christmas, I just think how the store seem to rush all the holidays to get the big finale of christmas.
they seem to start having the christmas themes before turkey is even started. (or in other words, right after halloween)

We are thinking of going with the 1920's and 30's theme. Like Bonnie and Clyde or something

No, no--How about Daffy & Donald Duck, Foghorn Leghorn & Miss Prissie, Woody Woodpecker & Tweetie Bird or The Roadrunner, Heckle & Jeckle?

chickensducks&agoose :

100 grand is my favorite candy bar. I never ever buy them, but if the kids get 'em in their loot bags, I sometimes confiscate....

Snickers is my favorite! I love gummy bodies though.

Those seem like good ideas!

I'm expecting Christmas stuff side by side with Halloween decor this year. Last year October wasn't even half over and they were moving out Halloween to make room for Christmas. By the time Halloween weekend came around all you could find in most stores was candy.
To top it off many stores were having a 'Christmas in July' black Friday-esque layaway sale this year.

I like the holidays in their respective seasons. In my own imaginary world, holidays aren't advertised until 6 weeks before the day, and one week after. The only stores I can really understand having holiday stuff out 2-3 months in advance are craft stores like Joann Fabrics and Michaels.

Anyone with an internet connection who goes all out for one particular holiday knows how to find what they need. There are numerous websites, forums, DIY sites, and so on, for all the major holidays. If you look enough you can even find magazines and trade shows for the holidays as well.

69 days left!

Yeah, some stores have been doing a 'Christmas shop in summer' sale. I think i'm going to let myself off the hook a day (I do every year) and pretend it's December instead of August, since tommorrow is the 24th. Some people crack me up, they count their Halloween loot while writing their Christmas list. I knew about three things I wanted for Christmas all year (one I knew i wanted since about two years ago) but I'm saving the other two for November/early December. I limit myself to five since I went crazy and asked for eight things one year.
